Eurofoam - Manufacturer of elastic polyurethane foams
Technical foams » Filtration

Eurofoam Polska offers a wide range of products for the filtration of air and water. The foams with a completely open cell structure are best for the filtration. The structure is formed in the process of thermal reticulation during which all the cell tissues which still remain after the foam has been formed are transformed and melt into cell ribs. The products for filtration are divided into two groups: (filtreny I bulpreny)

Filtreny T and TM are reticulated foams from polyurethane based on polyether polyol. A calibrated size of the cells and their open structure make up for the properties of a multiple filtration.

The TM Filtren foams are used mainly during a mechanical and biological filtration of water. They are perfectly suitable for picking up all kinds of organic and non-organic foulings. They can also be coated with live cultures of bacteria which causes that they fulfill their tasks sucessfully, for example, in biological treatment plants and not only in aquariums, swimming-pools or other water regions (fish breeding).

The T filtreny are commonly used in the buidling industry as roof wedges for ventilation.
We offer a wide range of Filtreny with different sizes of cells and colours (the main colour – blue, but also black, red and brown).

Bulpreny S, R and D are reticulated foams from polyurethane based on polyether polyol in which a different diametre of cells from 44 to 5500 micrometers can be achieved. The amount absorbed by the foam ribs constitutes only 3% of the foam`s total volume. It is not subject to “swelling” in the presence of water, fuel, soap or other detergents, mineral oils, greases etc. However, most organic solvents (benzene, ethanol, chloroform) cause the “swelling” of the foam. The extent of “swelling” depends on the kind of solvent used.

Bulpren S is a standard filtration foam with the density of 30 kg/m3.

Bulpren R is similar to Bulpren S but it is more rigid.

Bulpren D has got a greater flame resistance and is subject to MVSS 302 flammability test.

The calibrated sizes of cells and the fact that they are open ensure the efficiency during the filtration while the three dimensional net proves to be very good at (zaplenianie) bringing about the reduction of the air pressure filtered. The foams can also be shaken out, washed, rinsed and in this way use them several times. Due to its calibrated cell size, a uniform cell structure and three dimensional net, the foam is suitable for the preliminary and proper filtration of air. It is also used in air-conditioning and ventilation systems as well as in the automotive industry. These foams are principally used for the air filtration in small machines and devices but they are also used on big factory chimneys. They successfully stop tiny and natural air emissions (for example in vacuum-cleaners) and the heavy, harmful chemical compounds.

These foams after they have undergone a special coating process gain the properties thanks to which they are used as ceramic filters for filtering pig iron in the metal foundry.

The foams can be sawn, rolled, glued, laminated with flame and welded.

Additional applications of filtration foams:

  • medicine (filtration of blood, medical equipment)
  • electrotechnique (microphones, loudspeakers)
  • automotive industry (cabin filters, lacquer cabins)
